Q. Who are you guys and what do you do?
      We're Mahabharat Takeout! and we are an online rental service that specializes in renting Indian Mythological and Bollywood entertainment movies on DVD.
 
Q. How does this online rental thingy work?
      Assuming you signed up for a subscription plan (see below), you simply select the items you want to rent from us. When we have an available copy, we will mail the DVD to your doorstep. When you are ready to return the item, simply put it in the pre-paid return envelope that we provide and drop it off at the USPS. It couldn't be easier! In addition, there are no late fees to worry about as long as you are a member. We bill you a set fee  every month and you can rent as much as you want.
 
Q. How many DVD can I check out at once?
      That depends on your subscription plan. For example, if you signed up for the Plan 3, you can have in your possession three DVD at a time. When you return three dvd  back to us, we will send you the next available three DVD in your queue within 24 hours. If you are on Plan #2, you can have two DVD in your possession at a time. When you return two movies back to us, we will send you the next two movies available in your queue.
 
Q. How long can I keep a DVD?
      You can keep a DVD for as long as you want. There are no due dates and no late fees at Mahabharat Takeout while you are a member.
 
Q. How do I know when the dvd I want will be available?
      The purpose of the button on the right column  is to show which dvd is available immediately. button on right column shows that all DVD of that title have been rented out to other members. The numbers (1, 2 or 3) showing on this queue button will give you a rough idea about how many people ahead of you are waiting for that particular DVD. From this you can estimate how long you would have to wait for a particular DVD.  The more the numbers mean more people ahead of you and thus a potentially longer wait. We say "potentially" because the rental queue is very dynamic and affected by people renting DVD, how long they keep the DVD, members changing their queue order for what they have in their queue and by the number of copies we have of that particular DVD. The good news is that at this point in time all our DVD are readily available!

Our recommendation is to put the DVD you want to watch the most on top of your list because we factor in how long each DVD has been in your queue and what priority you give it.  Never leave your queue empty. Make sure to list 5-10 DVD so that if one is rented out another can be sent. Sooner or later you will be able to view all the DVD you select to view.
 
Q. My DVD has been shipped but I haven't got it yet? I sent the DVD back but you haven't received it yet? What now?
      The USPS is very reliable with shipping times and rarely lose our DVD, we allow the DVD(s) 10 business days to reach its destination. If the DVD has not reached its destination in that time,  you can report delivery problems online through your personal rental queue page. You can also email mt@intelindia.com . In most cases, we mark the DVD as missing and free up your slot so that another DVD can be shipped to you. Since we track lost/damaged DVD on a per customer basis, it is very important that you send back any DVD you receive from us to avoid any charges.
 
Q. How do I cancel my membership?
      You can cancel your membership at any time. Simply click on "Account Info" near the top of your personal Rental Queue page after you login. Then click on "Change Subscription". You will see a button labeled "Cancel Subscription". Just click that button and fill out the following form and your account will be cancelled. Please note that if any DVD is not returned within 10 days after your subscription has ended, you will be charged MSRP for any outstanding DVD plus a surcharge.
 
Q. What are the membership plans?
      Mahabharat Takeout offer a variety of plans to best suit your needs. Each membership plan is charged on a monthly basis regardless of how many DVD's you rent. The only restriction is that you may only have up to a certain number of DVD's rented out at a single time. Mahabharat Takeout and Bollywood Takeout both offer the following plans:

If you need to checkout more than 4 DVD  at a time you are free to buy an additional subscriptions from the above four rental Plans as may satisfy your need.  For example to checkout 8 DVD at a time you can buy a total of 2 subscriptions @ $25.95 each. This will come handy for members who like to view multi-volume mythological tv serials.

Important: Please note that depending on the Plan you have subscribed to, we will send all DVD in one mailer. For example, if you are on Plan 3, we will mail 3 available DVD from your queue in one envelope and supply only one pre-paid return envelope. Similarly you will return all three DVD in one envelope.

 
Q. Can I rent a DVD without becoming a monthly subscriber?
      Yes! Of course!! You can rent available dvd for 7-days period at $4.95 each. This price includes s&h. The icon   in the right hand column shows the availability of that DVD. No queuing, no waiting. Just click on this icon. Fill in the title and volume number of that DVD. It will be mailed to your address within 24 hours.  You must return it within 7-days after receipt. It is that simple! If the DVD's are not returned latest by 15 Days you will be charged Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for any unreturned DVD.
 
Q. Can I pay subscription fee or ad hoc rental fee by check or money order?
      We require your credit card authorization only as a safeguard against any eventuality when a rented DVD cannot be returned to us for any reason. You can meet this requirement by sending a small security deposit of $15 per DVD  by a personal check or money order. Your deposit will be refunded at your request after you have faithfully returned the last rented DVD.
No deposit is required from members opting for Annual subscriptions
 
Q. What about sales taxes?
      California residents are charged 8.5% sales tax. If you are not living, in California, you will not be charged sales tax.
 
Q.  I rented a movie, I like it. Can I buy it at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail  Price or less?
      Most of our Mahabharat and Bollywood Take-out DVD are Special Rental Edition. Our contract prohibits us from selling such DVD outright.  However, if you decide to buy any title please send your order for it to our videostore@intelindia.com who will be very glad to ship a brand new copy in its original box to you.

Q. I forgot my password and can’t log in. What should I do?
      Click on the “Forgot your login?’ link on the login page. Fill out the form and we will send your login information to your registered email address. If that does not work, please email us at mt@intelindia.com or fill out the form in the support section of our website.
 
Q. I lost the pre-paid return envelope used for returning the DVD. How can I return the DVD to you?
      We use real stamps on our return envelopes. Losing pre-paid return envelope is like losing your money. You can buy appropriate stamps and a padded mailer at your cost to return our DVD to us at the following address:

Non-Mythological Rentals
Q. Will Mahabharat Takeout offer Non-Mythological DVD from others genres?
      Yes, Mahabharat Takeout is looking into offering other genres for rent in the near future. Soon, about 1000 additional Bollywood entertainment movies will be added to our Bollywood Takeout pages. Please keep visiting this site.
 
Q. What do I do if I receive the wrong DVD?
      If you receive the wrong DVD, you can report the wrong DVD  online through your personal rental queue page or send us an email at mt@intelindia.com  and tell us what DVD you were supposed to get and what DVD you got instead. Then send the incorrect DVD back to us and we will ship you the correct DVD as soon as possible.
 
Q. What do I do if I got a broken disc or if the disc doesn’t play?
      If you receive a DVD that has already been damaged or does not play in your DVD player, you can report the damaged DVD online through your rental queue or send us an email at mt@intelindia.com  and tell which DVD is broken. Then send the damaged/unplayable DVD back to us and we will send you replacement as soon as possible.
 
Q. Can I get my DVD shipped in a certain order?
      We offer a very flexible and easy to use queue system that allows you to pick the order of DVD you would like to watch. We offer features like series lock (watch a series in order) and queue lock (watch your entire queue in order) and more!
 
Q. How many DVD should I put in my queue?
      You can put as many DVD in your queue as you like. If you are a Plan 4 subscriber, It is always best to have at least 25-30 movies in your queue at all times so that you will never be without a movie to watch.
 
Q. How do I suggest a DVD that’s not in the Mahabharat Takeout catalog?
      To suggest a DVD be added to our catalogue. Please leave a note on your personal Rental Queue page or send out email to customer support.
 
Q. Are your movies sent by first class mail?
      The DVD will be sent to you through first class mail, typically 2-4 days.
 
Q. How long will it take to get my movies?
      It typically takes 2-4 Days for the DVD to arrive at your doorstep.
 
Q. I lost the protective sleeves which the DVD arrived in. What should I do?
      If you lost the protective sleeve in which the DVD was shipped in (the envelope with the name of the DVD). Please wrap it in a soft sheet of paper and include a note with your email address so that we can properly credit your account.

Billing Questions
Q. What day of the month will I get billed?
      You will be billed every month on the day that you signed up. This means that if you signed up on the 15th of January, you will be billed on the 15th on every month afterwards.

Shipping Questions
Q. Are there places you won’t ship to?
      We ship to all 50 states in the United States. We also make special cases for military personnel who are stationed outside of the U.S for a small additional cost to cover priority mailing fee. (please email us at mt@intelindia.com  if you require special assistance). We normally do not ship rental dvd to other countries because of high mailing costs and risk of loss. However, if there is a particular dvd that is not available in your country, please feel free to contact us for special arrangement.
