He is able to buy Pooja off from maharani one first night and is allowed to take her out but Gotya is kept as hostage in brothel. That is why Ravi is forced to return Pooja to brothel next day in morning but he promises her that he will come back the same night with more money. That night Maharani having sensed, the on coming romance between Pooja and Ravi refuses to sell Pooja off to Ravi that night.

Bhawani Prasad (Jayant) is the towering personality of "Sunghursh". Intrigued with her aunt's history, Tehzeeb sets out to collect material from people who were close to Sardari Begum. She discovers in Sardari's chequered life a startling parallel with her own predicament.
As the film ends, Sakina goes back to her singing. Tehzeeb breaks away from Mark. Life continues as it always has. But something has changed. |

Little did the poor duo know that the second son of theirs shall drag their names from the darkness and anonymity and write them in the annals of history. Ude Singh would have remained another no entity if it were not for the event of the April 13, 1919.On this bloody Baisakhi day he was one of the several volunteers who were serving water to the thirty thousands who had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh next to the revered Golden Temple in Amritsar.Ude Singh was now a politically conscious man but the path that he wanted to lead to achieve India's freedom still alluded him. But not for long. He accepted the thinking and methodology of the Ghadar Party. After his arrival in India in 1927 he was arrested for illegal possession of arms and jailed for five years. In jail, Ude Singh did not take things lying down. He fought for better facilitiesand prison reforms. Unfortunately, he was still in prison when his close friend and Idol Bhagat Singh was arrested and hanged. After his release from jail. Ude managed to get the police off his back, got a passport in the name of Uddham Singh and went to England to write the last and most glorious chapter of his life. |

and wants her son to be treated there. Her son regains consciousness for a short while and demands that he be taken to Shirdi, the town of Sai Baba. So they travel there, and that is where they meet with an ardent devotee of Sai Baba (Manoj Kumar) who recounts the tale behind the Baba. A young boy who
traveled with a marriage procession to Shirdi, he stayed there, grew up, looked after by the kind townspeople, who subsequently named him Sai Baba.He showed Ganpat Rao that he is one with Vithoba and Bhagwan Shri Kishan; he demonstrated to Som Dev that he is one with Bhagwan Shri Shiv; former jailbird Heera regained his eyesight with Sai's blessing; During all of these miracles, the Sai always went door to door begging for alms and food.The legend grew, people flocked all over to witness this new Messiah, one whom the Muslims called "Allah Sai", Christians "Jesus Sai", Sikhs "Nanak Sai", and Hindus "Bhola Sai". Sai could recite scriptures from all the Holy books, whether it was the Holy Quran, the Holy Bible, the Holy Granth Sahib, or the Holy Geeta, and always blessed Hindus with "Allah bless you", and Muslims with "Krishna bless you". After his passing, a temple was built in his memory. It is here that a doubting doctor has to decide whether his ailing son can be treated by Sai Baba, and it is here where we will witness whether faith or scientific reality and logic will prevail.This movie proved a box office hit because of its multi-star cast, music and everything one expects from a Bollywood Hindi movie.

Sai Paranjpe has treated the film with heart and soul - with intimate and delicate touches. Naseeruddin Shah give a very natural performance, one of his best. Shabana too has done very well. Another fine performance comes from Mohan Gokhale. Sudha Chopra, Om Puri and others support well.
Music goes well with the mood of the film. Production and technival values go well with the theme.

In Swades, the director attempts a simplistic story. NRI and NASA project leader Mohan Bhargava (Shah Rukh Khan) comes to India for a week after 12 years only to fetch his nanny Kaveriamma (Kishori Ballal).
But she now lives in a small UP village Charanpur that has no electricity, with her new responsibilities — schoolteacher Gita (newcomer Gayatri Joshi) and her brother Chikku (Smit Sheth).
Mohan is charmed by both the village and its belle, digs his feet into the soil and it becomes harder and harder for him to leave. He gets involved in smoothening out problems that beset the village – caste lines and gender biases that thwart children from going to school.
Yet it isn't until he listens to a peasant's weakening struggle against starvation that Mohan realizes he has to do his bit to bring Charanpur out of the darkness – literally. Then it's just a losing battle. NRI Mohan leaves it all to come back home and to his woman.
The director's message is more than clear; there's no looking forward until we untie the baggage of ‘sanskar' and ‘parampara'. The cinematography (Mahesh Aney) is documentarish and pretty, while Rahman's music is insidiously soothing. |
